Say it slowly and you hear the rest: there’s much room for you. There’s Mushroom For You™ is the community and partnership initiative of The Mushroom Angel Company. We gather people around elevated, mushroom forward food and real conversation, so they can live at the level of their consciousness and not at the limit of their circumstances. Every table works toward two outcomes: nutrition security and economic mobility.
We are inviting community partners to host these dinners with us. Here is who we are, how the model works and how every dinner gives back.

About us
The Mushroom Angel Company
The Mushroom Angel Company began at our own dinner table in Detroit. Co-founders Dr. W.E. Da’Cruz and Dominique Da’Cruz have completely different taste preferences, and raising their children sharpened a tension many families feel: whole foods or processed convenience. Mushrooms became their negotiable medium, the food everyone at the table could say yes to.
We believe God gave us a commission: to spread the good gospel of mushrooms, the good news of mushrooms, to every table we can reach. We hold to an old truth that guides everything we make. Let food be thy medicine.
Since launching in 2020, we have grown with discipline. We make mushroom-based foods for Everyday Elevated Eaters who want clean, culinary-inspired convenient meals without compromising their food standards. Everything is made from whole mushrooms and recognizable ingredients in our own production facility, and we serve customers through retail, food service and direct to customer.

The evening
Two hours
A curated, mushroom forward menu plated as bite sized dishes. Meat lovers, flexitarians, vegetarians and vegans at one table.
Culinary education
Not about changing anyone’s diet. About seeing how clean, convenient whole food fits real families and real budgets.
Facilitated conversation
About food, family, work and what comes next. Conversations are the currency of possibilities.
The model
The table belongs to the community
Each dinner is built by four partners. We supply the foundation. The community supplies the heart of it.
Product at wholesale
We supply our Mouth-Watering Mushroom Burgers and Meaty Mushroom Ground at wholesale pricing, plus menu guidance, facilitation of the conversation and event materials.
A chef from the community
We ask each community to identify a local chef for us to partner with, so the menu, the flavors and the table stay true to the people it serves.
The location
Our host partner provides the space and helps invite the community: a church hall, community center, restaurant, workplace or home.
The rest of the plate
We encourage every additional ingredient the menu needs to be purchased from local farmers, so the dollars spent on the dinner stay close to home.

A community partner
When a dinner is ticketed, a portion of the proceeds goes to a community partner that helps feed the community, chosen with the host.
A local chef
A chef from the community leads the kitchen, gains visibility and builds relationships through the series.

Community partners in the room connect guests to resources, introductions and opportunities.
